Library

The library on the first floor of the Documentation Centre is part of the Research and Documentation department. It contains over 8,000 publications.

The library focuses on books about Bergen-Belsen itself as well as books and periodicals relating to Nazism, the concentration camp system, the Holocaust and the history of the different groups of people persecuted by the Nazis.

The library has a reading room with computer terminals which can be used to access the supplementary information from the exhibition. The books in the library are for reference purposes only and cannot be borrowed.

The library holdings can also be searched online (in German) through the catalogue of the Association of Memorial Site Libraries (AGGB).
