Charlotte Trottier studied philosophy and cultural studies at the University of Leipzig. After graduating, she worked as a research assistant at the university through September 2021. She joined the Lower Saxony Memorials Foundation/Bergen-Belsen Memorial in October 2021, where she worked on various projects on the topics of perpetratorship and police history and coordinated the implementation of the design for all approach for one of the Memorial’s travelling exhibition projects. As an educational assistant, she is responsible for the Study Days programme series as well as coordinating and developing a programme for all which aims to encourage and expand social participation in historical-political education.

The focal points of her research include aspects of memory and remembrance culture, political philosophy and the philosophy of law, history of law, migration history and modern Jewish (intellectual) history. During her studies, she worked at various institutes at the Universities of Leipzig and Haifa as well as at the Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture – Simon Dubnow. She is studying part-time for a doctorate at the Chair for Cultural Philosophy/Cultural Theory of the University of Leipzig.
