Marc Ellinghaus is the point of contact for day-long programmes for registered groups, tours for groups and individuals, and all Visitor Services issues. He also focuses on visitor information at the Memorial and the further development of materials, media and infrastructure for Visitor Services and the Education department.

Marc Ellinghaus studied philosophy, history and politics at the University of Hanover, earning a master’s degree. He has worked for the Bergen-Belsen Memorial since 2000, initially accompanying groups of young people and adults on tours and during study days and seminars as a freelancer in the Visitor Services department. In 2005 he joined the project for redesigning the Bergen-Belsen Memorial, where he played a coordinating, editorial and authorial role in the development and completion of the current permanent exhibition. In 2009 he took over as head of Visitor Services, and in 2012 he joined Katrin Unger as a director of the Education and Encounters department.
