The Supplementary Levels
The exhibition sections covering the POW camps, concentration camp and displaced persons camp each include computer terminals and folders with documents and explanatory texts to provide visitors with supplementary information.
The supplementary level for the section on the POW camps, for example, features information on the backgrounds of the POWs, who came from many different countries, as well as on other POW camps and work details. The supplementary level for the concentration camp section addresses the persecution of different groups of prisoners according to their nationalities and the reasons for their imprisonment. In the section on the DP camp, the supplementary level deals with survivors returning to their home countries and Jewish DPs emigrating to other countries. The three supplementary levels also include biographies for nearly all of the individuals included in the exhibition.
This information can also be accessed from the computer terminals in the library on the first floor of the Documentation Centre.
The supplementary information is currently only available in German, but an English version is planned to complement the bilingual exhibition.
