Marc Ellinghaus is responsible for public educational programmes aimed at visitors to the Memorial, such as open guided tours, as well as various digital activities and projects. He additionally focuses on providing visitor information at the Memorial, as well as developing materials, media and infrastructure. Marc Ellinghaus is also the deputy director of the Education and Encounters department.
Marc Ellinghaus has been a research assistant in the Education and Encounters department since 2009. He studied philosophy, history and politics at the University of Hanover. He has worked for the Bergen-Belsen Memorial since 2000, initially as a guide and later on various projects, including the project for designing the current permanent exhibition.
